My Journey to Founding
Global Harmony Project
In 2022, my life circumstances changed dramatically. As a classically trained pianist seeking fresh inspiration, I made the decision to leave my stable business development job and embark on a solo journey across Latin America. My mission was clear: immerse myself in the rich environment of traditional Latin American rhythms and dances.

In Colombia, salsa stole my heart, and I stayed in the country as long as I could, fueled by a newfound passion bordering on obsession. Determined to trace the roots of this musical genre, I set my sights on Cuba. There, I had the privilege of meeting and learning from some of the most inspiring percussionists and musicians I had ever encountered. My time in Cuba was spent building meaningful relationships and delving into a myriad of rhythms, including Son, Casino, Timba, Guaguancó, Yambú, Columbia, Mambo, and Bolero, among countless others.
It was during these experiences, against the backdrop of economic hardship and extreme poverty in many Latin American countries, that a profound realization struck me. In witnessing the remarkable musical talent flourishing amidst challenging circumstances, I saw an opportunity for a transformative exchange—one that could benefit both Latin American musicians and American music students and educators alike. This revelation ignited the spark for the creation of the Global Harmony Project.

At the core of the organization is a commitment to empower North American music students and educators with a deep understanding and appreciation for musical and cultural diversity. Simultaneously, we aim to provide crucial financial support to talented Latin American musicians and their communities. Through dynamic musical and cultural programs, our vision is to foster a more interconnected, enriched, and harmonious global musical community.
